The AI train has left the station. I’ve heard the concerns — “AI is deceitful,” “It’s cheating,” or “It’s evil.” But let me tell you something: if you hold onto that mindset, you’re getting left behind. AI is not only here to stay; it’s becoming essential for anyone serious about content creation and affiliate marketing.
I’m here to guide you in using AI ethically to improve your process and streamline your strategies. I’ve made over a million dollars in affiliate marketing, and AI is central to how I’m scaling my content creation.
Step 1: Embrace AI as Your Content Creation Partner
Let’s get this straight — AI is not a shortcut or a cheat; it’s a powerful tool that can transform your content creation process. If you’re ready to take advantage of what AI offers, you’ll be able to generate more ideas, streamline production, and expand your reach in ways that weren’t possible before.
Step 2: Install and Set Up Harpa AI for Content Insights
One of my go-to tools is Harpa AI, a Chrome extension that connects to ChatGPT. Here’s what you’ll do:
- Install Harpa AI from the Chrome Web Store.
- Link it to your ChatGPT account, so you can use your API to leverage ChatGPT’s memory and personalization.
- Make it “page-aware” by clicking the three dots in the extension and selecting page-aware mode.
Step 3: Analyze Your YouTube Channel (Or Competitor Channels) for Themes
Let’s start by analyzing your own YouTube channel, or a competitor’s channel if you’re looking to model success in a particular niche.
- Open your YouTube channel.
- Use Harpa’s page-aware mode and type: “What is this channel about?”
- Harpa will provide a summary of the main themes and categories.
Example: If your channel covers DIY Home Decor, Harpa might break it down into:
- Budget-Friendly Home Hacks
- Seasonal Decor
- Furniture Makeovers
For affiliate marketing, it might pull themes like:
- Platform-Specific Tips (Pinterest, TikTok, YouTube)
- Niche Selection Strategies
- Monetization Tips
Step 4: Create Subtopics for Each Main Category
Next, expand your main themes into subtopics. Here’s how:
- Type: “Generate subtopics for each main theme.”
- Example Niches:
- DIY Home Decor: Budget-Friendly Hacks, Small Space Solutions, Seasonal Decor Tips.
- Fitness Over 50: Mobility Exercises, Healthy Eating, Strength Training for Seniors.
These subtopics give you a rich mix of ideas to create diverse, engaging content that covers the entire niche.
Step 5: Ask for Content Ideas for Each Subtopic
Now, ask ChatGPT to give you specific content ideas. Use this prompt:
“Generate 10 video ideas for each subtopic, separated by category and numbered.”
ChatGPT will start brainstorming ideas for you, providing a wealth of topics.
Example Ideas for DIY Home Decor:
- Budget-Friendly Hacks: “Top 10 DIY Wall Art Ideas Under $20”
- Small Space Solutions: “How to Maximize Storage in Small Kitchens”
- Seasonal Decor Tips: “Fall Decor Ideas That Won’t Break the Bank”
Example Ideas for Affiliate Marketing:
- Platform-Specific Tips: “How to Use Pinterest for Affiliate Marketing”
- Monetization Tips: “Top Affiliate Programs for Beginners in 2024”
Step 6: Dive into Competitor Analysis for More Ideas
If you want even more ideas, repeat this process with competitor channels or accounts in your niche.
- Choose a high-performing channel or account.
- Use Harpa to analyze it and ask, “What is this channel/account about?”
- Identify popular categories, subtopics, and trending themes.
Step 7: Organize Topics by Seasonality and Monthly Themes
Now that you have a massive list of ideas, it’s time to structure them. Ask ChatGPT:
“Organize these content ideas into a 1-year content plan with monthly themes and seasonal relevance, assuming I’ll publish 3-4 times a week.”
Example:
- January (New Beginnings): Decluttering Tips, Organizing for the New Year
- February (Valentine’s Day): DIY Romantic Decor, Home Makeover for Couples
- March (Spring Refresh): Spring Cleaning Hacks, Easy Garden Makeovers
For affiliate marketing:
- January (New Year’s Goals): “How to Start Affiliate Marketing in 2024,” “Best Platforms to Begin Your Affiliate Journey”
- February (Income Growth Focus): “Monetizing Valentine’s Day Sales with Affiliate Links,” “Top Products to Promote in February”
Step 8: Finalize Your Content Plan with Weekly Themes and Posting Frequency
To break down your plan even further, tell ChatGPT:
“Break this plan down into weekly themes with 3-4 posts per week for each month.”
Here’s how that might look:
Month 1:
- Week 1: Introduction to the niche and foundational content
- Week 2: Trending ideas or seasonal topics
- Week 3: Tutorials and DIY projects
- Week 4: Product reviews and recommendations
Month 2 Example for Affiliate Marketing:
- Week 1: Choosing an affiliate program by platform
- Week 2: Tips for driving traffic to your affiliate links
- Week 3: SEO tips for affiliate content
- Week 4: Maximizing conversions and tracking performance
Step 9: Track and Optimize Your Content Performance
Once your content is live, use tools to track how well each piece is performing. Here are some useful tools:
- VidIQ for YouTube analytics.
- Clicky Analytics for detailed blog traffic tracking.
- Pinterest Analytics through Tailwind for pin performance and reach.
Step 10: Adjust and Refine
AI gives you the structure, but as you get feedback, refine your plan to focus on what resonates most. This may mean adjusting themes, adding new content ideas, or even skipping a category if it’s not getting traction.
