How to do Pinterest Affiliate Marketing with LTK

How to do Pinterest Affiliate Marketing with LTK

This website contains affiliate links. Some products are gifted by the brand. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. The content on this website was created with the help of AI.

While I share money-making strategies, nothing is "typical", and outcomes are based on each individual. There are no guarantees.

If you’re tired of juggling 10 affiliate dashboards and guessing which links still work, LTK simplifies the whole thing so you can focus on creating and selling. Pinterest is search, not social—your vertical pins rank, resurface, and keep sending shoppers months after you post. Pair that evergreen traffic with LTK’s product collections, deep links, and one-click updates, and you’ve got a clean path from save → click → cart without rebuilding roundups every time something sells out.

You publish once in LTK, repurpose that link across multiple pins and boards, swap items when inventory changes, and your analytics actually tell a straight story: which pins moved product, which collections paid, and what to double down on next.

That’s why so many of us are here—less admin, more commissions, repeatable.

What LTK Is (and Why It Matters Here)

LTK is an affiliate platform built for creators that centralizes your product links, brand partners, and payouts in one dashboard. Instead of signing up for a dozen separate affiliate programs, you connect to LTK’s network, create “Shop” posts or collections, and get trackable links you can drop into Pinterest Pins, Idea Pins, and blog posts. When an item goes out of stock, you swap it once inside LTK and every Pin pointing to that collection stays clean.

You also get performance data—clicks, orders, and earnings—so you can see exactly which Pins and products are making you money and double down fast.

Set Up Your LTK + Pinterest Foundations

Get approved as an LTK Creator and build your first “Shop the Post” collection (primary item + 2–3 alternates). Switch your Pinterest to a Business account, claim your website, and enable Rich Pins so product titles/prices pull through.

Map 10–15 boards to your money categories (e.g., Cozy Fall Living Room, Capsule Wardrobe Basics) and write keyworded board descriptions. Lock a simple brand kit for Pins (2–3 fonts, color accents, text overlay style).

Add a one-line FTC disclosure you’ll reuse on every Pin that links to LTK. Something like (affiliate Links benefit me at no extra cost to you)

Create Your First High-Intent Pin (Start to Sale)

  1. Shoot one look/room and add 2–3 alternates so you have backups if items sell out.
  2. Build a “Shop the Post” collection in LTK and copy the collection link (not individual product links).
  3. Design a 2:3 vertical image (1000×1500). Add a short overlay that names the outcome, not the product (e.g., “Cozy Neutral Living Room,” “Fall Capsule Outfit”).
  4. Upload to Pinterest with your LTK collection as the destination URL. Title format: primary keyword | benefit | product type (“Neutral Living Room Decor | Cozy Fall Ideas | Shop the Look”).
  5. Write a 2–3 sentence description using natural keywords and one clear CTA to shop. End with your reusable disclosure.
  6. Publish to 2–3 relevant boards you already mapped (primary board first), then schedule 1–2 fresh creative variations for the next 7–10 days.
  7. Track clicks and orders in LTK and saves/outbound in Pinterest. If clicks are high but orders lag, swap in a better-priced alternative inside LTK so every existing Pin updates automatically.

Optimize for Pinterest Search (Titles, Descriptions, Boards)

  1. Build a seed list: type your pillar terms into Pinterest search (e.g., “fall outfits,” “neutral living room”) and grab 8–12 autosuggest phrases per pillar.
  2. Validate timing: in Pinterest Trends, confirm seasonality and start publishing 6–8 weeks before the spike.
  3. Title formula: primary keyword | outcome | product type (example: “Neutral Living Room Decor | Cozy Fall Ideas | Shop the Look”).
  4. Description template (drop in your keywords naturally):
    “Get the look: [outcome] with

. I linked the exact items plus budget-friendly dupes in my LTK collection. Tap to shop and save for later.” + your reusable disclosure.
  5. Board alignment: rename boards with exact-match keywords and rewrite board descriptions using 2–3 core phrases you want to rank for. Pin to the most relevant board first.
  6. QC before publish: does the image match the primary keyword? Is the destination URL your LTK collection? Does the first 80 characters state the benefit clearly?

Repurpose One Shoot into a Week of Pins

  1. Export one LTK collection link.
  2. Make 3 image Pins: lifestyle, close-up detail, flat lay; same 2:3 ratio, new overlay each time.
  3. Make 1 Video Pin: 6–12s pan/try-on with “Tap to Shop on LTK” end card.
  4. Make 2 Idea Pins: step-by-step (“Get the Look” or “Style 1–2–3”) and a price/dupe comparison; use product stickers.
  5. Publish to the primary board now, then queue the other variations to secondary boards over 7–10 days.
  6. Swap sold-out items inside LTK only; all existing Pins stay valid.
  7. After 14 days, refresh the top performer with a new first slide and tighter title to extend ranking.

Choose the Right Link: LTK vs. Blog (and How to Track It)

  1. Link to your LTK collection when the Pin is a clear “shop the look.” Fewer clicks, faster carts, higher EPC.
  2. Link to your blog when the Pin needs context (styling tips, size notes, comparison, dupes). Use the post to pre-sell, then embed LTK widgets/buttons.
  3. Always add UTMs so you can see Pinterest traffic and earnings by Pin: ?utm_source=pinterest&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=pin_title_slug.
  4. For Idea Pins without links, drive to your profile URL with “Shop my LTK” in the first card and add product stickers where available.
  5. When something sells out, replace it inside LTK; every existing Pin stays valid without touching Pinterest.
  6. Disclosure lives in the description and on blog posts. Keep one reusable line you paste everywhere.

Publishing Cadence and Seasonal Timing

Post 1–2 fresh Pins per day per pillar and schedule 7–10 days out; lead seasonal content by 6–8 weeks (holiday decor in October, spring outfits in February); refresh your top two performers weekly with a new first slide and tighter title; ship one price/dupe comparison Idea Pin every Friday; review Pinterest + LTK analytics every Sunday and only scale what earned clicks and orders last week.

Use Descriptive Language That Sells (and Build It Into Your Pins)

Pinterest is a visual search engine, so your words should help people picture the result and know exactly what to do next. Describe the look, the feel, and the benefit in plain language, then point them to your LTK link. Keep titles tight and keyword-first. In descriptions, write 2–3 short sentences that mirror the image, add a clear outcome, and end with a CTA.

How to write it

  • Title formula: primary keyword | outcome | product type
  • Description flow: “what it looks/feels like” → “why it helps” → “tap to shop in LTK” (+ your disclosure)
