How to Change A Pinterest Board Cover

How to Change A Pinterest Board Cover

This website contains affiliate links. Some products are gifted by the brand. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. The content on this website was created with the help of AI.

While I share money-making strategies, nothing is "typical", and outcomes are based on each individual. There are no guarantees.

Your Pinterest board cover isn’t just cosmetic.

It’s positioning.

How to Get More Views on Pinterest (What Is Actually Moving the Needle)

When someone lands on your profile, your board covers communicate authority instantly.

If they’re random, inconsistent, or outdated, it weakens your brand.

Here’s how to change a Pinterest board cover the right way.

First, go to your profile.

Click into the board you want to update.

At the top right of the board, click the three dots.

Select “Edit board.”

Inside the board settings, you’ll see the option to change the cover.

Pinterest lets you choose from pins already inside that board.

That’s important.

You can’t upload a completely separate image directly as a cover.

It must be one of the pins.

So if you want a custom cover, create and upload the image as a pin to that board first.

I usually batch create clean, bold board cover images inside Ideogram.

Vertical format.

Strong keyword headline.

Simple, readable design.

Clarity over decoration.

Once that image is pinned to the board, go back to “Edit board.”

Select “Change cover.”

Choose your new image.

Save.

Done.

Now step back and look at your entire profile.

Board covers should feel cohesive.

Aligned fonts.
Aligned color tones.
Clear keyword messaging.

Remember, Pinterest is a search engine.

If your board title says “Small Apartment Storage Ideas,” your cover should reinforce that phrase visually.

Board covers don’t directly change SEO ranking.

But they change perception.

Perception increases clicks.

Clicks increase engagement.

Engagement supports distribution.

Think of your board covers as storefront signage.

Clean.

Clear.

Keyword-driven.
