If I Had To Make My First $100 With Affiliate Marketing
Picture this. You lose everything today, your business, your audience, your list. Now you’ve got 72 hours to make your first sale online. No ads, no audience, no product of your own. Here’s the exact plan I’d run.
This is the framework I’d use starting from zero. Everyone’s results depend on effort, niche, and traffic, so treat this as a plan to execute, not a guarantee.
Everything below, in 4 moves
Find the problem + product
Go where people complain. Their exact words tell you what they’re ready to buy, then you find the affiliate product that solves it.
Build your bridge page
One simple page that takes someone from “I have this problem” to “this product fixes it.” Your 24/7 salesperson.
Drive traffic with Pinterest
Pinterest isn’t social, it’s search. One pin can drive traffic to your bridge page for months.
Turn proof into a business
Your first sale isn’t luck, it’s proof. Find what worked, make more of it, and start building an email list.
The plan, start to finish
Making your first sale isn’t luck. It’s clarity, focus, and doing the right work in the right order.
Find the problem
Go where people complain: Reddit, Quora, Facebook groups. Look for phrases like “how do I fix,” “what’s the best for,” and “I’m struggling with.” Those tell you what people are ready to spend money on right now.
Find the product
Join a free affiliate network like Amazon Associates, ShareASale, or ClickBank. Look for something that directly solves the problem, has real reviews, and pays a decent commission. Do the math on what you’d need to sell to hit your first target.
Build your bridge page
One free page (Canva Websites, Google Sites, or Medium all work) that takes someone from problem to solution: a headline that speaks to the pain, a short problem statement, your product as the solution, a mini-review tied to benefits, real proof, a clear call to action, and your affiliate disclosure.
Drive traffic with Pinterest
Set up a Business Account with keyword-rich name and bio, build 5 to 10 niche boards, research keywords, design pins in Canva, and link every pin to your bridge page, not your affiliate link directly. Publish across your boards.
Scale what works
Once you have proof, go into your analytics, find the pin that got the most clicks, and make variations of it. Expand your bridge page into more reviews, start building an email list, and repurpose the content for TikTok or YouTube Shorts.
“Once you’ve made your first sale online, you’re not guessing anymore. You’re building on proof.“— Lori Ballen
