I turned 50 and something shifted.

Not a crisis. More like a quiet look at how I was spending my time.

So much of it was inside structures other people built, chasing goals that weren’t mine.

That was the start of the business I run now.

I get emails all the time from women in their 40s, 50s and 60s asking the same thing. Is it too late?

No. In the first three months of 2026, I made $102,334 as a solopreneur.

And I built all of it well into my career.

Here’s what I’d do if I were starting at 50 today:

1. Pick a narrow niche. One topic, covered deeply, beats a hundred topics covered thin.
2. Start an email list on day one. It’s the one thing no algorithm can take away.
3. Use Pinterest early. It’s a search engine, and it sends traffic while your blog is still new.
4. Recommend products you trust. A small audience that listens beats a big one that scrolls.
5. Turn what you know into a digital guide. Thirty years of experience is a product.

Be honest with yourself about two things. The tech has a learning curve. And this takes years, not weeks.

But here’s what nobody tells you.

Your age isn’t the obstacle. It’s the content.

People want advice from someone who has actually lived it. That’s you.
