Getting Started with Ordering a Blog Writer
Go ahead and set up your account. Add funds. Start with no less than $25 for your first order. A 1000 word article, which is the minimum we suggest for a competitive topic, would run you around $35.
- You can set up folders (not necessary).
- Select any of the types of writing. Blog is fine. Doesn’t change anything other than the “suggested” star of a writer for that kind of piece. It’s not really changing who you get.
- Select a Category (generally real estate)
- Add in any specialties (up to 5) such as real estate, hyperlocal, finance
Keyword Research First
Before you order your content, you need to be very clear about what you want it to do. Is it simply a few hundred words about a community for your IDX widget pages
Is it going to be an article you want to rank on the search engines for that is more competitive? Is it going to be a shorter “list” you want to get shared on social media such as “Best Dog Bakeries in X”. This makes a difference.
If your goal is to rank on the search engines, do a bit of research on what pages are already ranking. You can go to Google, type in the term, and look at the top 10 pages to get an idea. If you have the budget for the tool SEMrush, you can use the SEO Content Template and it will tell you the average word count and related keywords.
Decide what main keyword you want the piece to rank for. Remember, the shorter the keyword (head term 2-3 words vs. long tail 4 words+) the more competitive it’s going to be. This means it will have a higher barrier of entry.
CREATING The SEO Title
Put your keyword in the front of the title.
Example: Keyword is “Living in Las Vegas”
There is no guarantee this will rank your page. It is, however, a best practice. You can change the title once you receive the content. If you are using a WordPress Plugin that offers additional social settings, such as Yoast, you’ll be able to create a title for your blog, one for your search engines, and one for social each written to appeal to that channel specifically.
Example: Blog Title: Living in Las Vegas Search Engine Title: Living in Las Vegas | Why everyone is moving to Southern Nevada Social Channel: You are not going to believe why this 21 year old just moved to Vegas!
Tip: Your Title not only matters when it comes to keywords. Whatever title you enter as your title tag or search engine title, Google will use in it’s snippets on the search engine results page. The more appealing your title is, the more clicks you’ll get. The more clicks you get, the more likely you are to move up in rankings on the search engines.

So yes: Title Matters!
Describing Your Order to the Qualified Writers
This is mainly the section for what you want. I generally will include the fair housing comments as well. In the advanced features, you can also tell them what to stay away from.
Example for this piece:
Please write an article about X. Do not use any demographic descriptions like family status, age, sex, or race. Please use stats and cite sources. Make sure all content is current to this year. Be very specific and local. I can’t accept anything “generic” that could be about any area. Include a few of these topics maybe as paragraph headings: Las Vegas Strip, Las Vegas Traffic, Las Vegas Airport, Las Vegas income, Las Vegas Real Estate Market, Las Vegas Jobs, Las Vegas Weather, Las Vegas Sports. Publish URL is your website you will be publishing this on.
Include a few URL’s
It’s a good idea to include a few URL’s (other webpages) that have been written on this topic. Explain what you like about them for more direction to your writer. Not all of the writers will follow direction. You’ll learn who does. It’s always better to include more details.
You pay per word. Your cost per word depends on the rating of the writer. Avoid 1 star writers. A 2 star order will generally get you what you need. Much of the time, a 3 star writer will pick up your 2 star order because they want the work. You still only pay for the 2 stars, but then get a 3 star writer. Many people will order LESS words to pay less money. Remember, if you have competition for the topic you are trying to rank for, cutting corners won’t do you any favors. That being said “fluff” and “fillers” won’t either, so make sure it’s valuable content!
You choose a minimum and maximum. Sometimes the writer will go over your maximum (which is always impressive and something to note). You are not billed extra for the extra content. Create a range of about 50 to 100 between the min and max.
If you have Grammarly, you can do your proofreading and plagarism checker in there. Seems like a lot to spend a few cents a word for editing. If the writer uses bad grammar or spelling, they should be blocked. In addition, a 2 star writer is supposed to be 98% error free.
Advanced Order Options
These are all optional. None are required ot place your order.
Enter up to 5 keywords. I don’t suggest that you “optimize” your content for more than one keyword as a rule. No need to repeat your keyword in several ways either. That being said, semantically related keywords are very relative for ranking on the search engines. The idea is to look at the other top pages ranking on page one and see what type of topics or related keywords did they all use in their content. If you can find this, it’s a good idea to include it in yours. Generally, if the writer is covering a topic in depth, they will naturally use variations of the keyword as well as semantically related keywords. Example: Keyword “Real Estate Market” Semantically related: housing, industry, home prices, sales, listings, real estate agent.
Suggested Outbound Link
This is the link to your website you are going to publish your content on.
Include Meta Data
If you want them to create your meta description for you, then say yes. Careful with this. Your meta description controls the snippet that appears on the search engines. Remember earlier, we said the Title tag is used in the snippet. The meta description is what appears under the title. These should include the main keyword and then a call to action to generate more clicks. This is very important and not a place to stuff keywords. Meta keywords or labels fields are not necessary to use.
See the description under the title and URL? That’s created from the meta description.
You’ll choose whatever language you want to publish in that is available. Consider using another language if you speak it. It can be very effective to write in your 1st or 2nd language that is not English to bring in less competitive niches on the web.
Generally, 2-3 days is plenty. If you give them longer, it doesn’t mean better work is submitted. If it’s deep research maybe for a 3000 + word count blog, consider 5 days.

Old data, anything generic or filler keywords, fair housing law violations: race, age, sex, familial status
