This guide will teach a magician who wants to get booked for shows how to make a magic productions website. You’ll pick a website name, select a host, add your theme, and choose a booking calendar.
Register a Domain Name
When registering a domain name for a website, the magician’s name would be appropriate. A domain name can be bought through any hosting website or domain provider, such as GoDaddy.
Get a Web Hosting Account
A web hosting account is where all of the magic productions website files will be stored on the Internet. There are many different types of web hosting services to choose from, some good ones are Flywheel, WPEngine, and Siteground.
Build the Magic Productions Website
There are many different “CMS” (Content Management Systems) that can be used to build a magic productions website. Some good ones are WordPress, Joomla, and Drupal. Each CMS is different so look for one that you feel comfortable using. This guide will be using WordPress.
Install WordPress on the Web Hosting Account
If you chose a managed WordPress solution from one of the web hosts mentioned above, your WordPress CMS is ready to add your theme, plugins, menus, and widgets.
Select a Premium Theme from WordPress.org
There are many good themes available for free from the WordPress theme repository, but some people may prefer a premium theme in which they don’t have to modify themselves and support updates.
I suggest Astra Pro with the Elementor Page Builder. Choose from one of the many Elementor starter kits to get your website up and running quickly.
If you’re looking for a stylish WordPress theme for your magic productions website, take a look at Magnifio from Template Monster. This theme is perfect for magician artists, circus performers, managers of magic shows, and anyone else who wants to showcase their magical talents online. With its modern design and powerful features, Magnifio will help you create a website that’s sure to impress your visitors.
You can add the template to your elementor account.
Add a Booking Plugin
WordPress allows you to add Plugins that add functionality to your website. You can easily add a booking calendar so customers can book you for magic shows and appearances.
Amelia is an easy-to-use yet effective automated booking operator who works 24 hours a day, seven days a week to ensure that your consumers may make appointments or plan events and pay online at any time.
Install the Amelia Booking plugin for WordPress. Once the plugin is installed, activate it and enter your license key.
Add Menus and Widgets
The website needs to be organized into several pages for easier navigation between the acts, events, photos, clients, testimonials, and contact information.
In WordPress, click on appearance (in the left column), and then menus. You can create a new menu under appearance and links.
Click on “Custom Menu” under appearance, then create a custom menu that organizes your pages. You can click the + symbol to add in posts, pages, and other items to your menu.
Add Contact Forms
You may want to include forms on your website so that people can contact you. I like WP Forms or Ninja forms. Both are easy to install and configure.
Add an About Page
The website should have a place where the visitor can learn more about you, and your magic services.
Include your biography, experience, awards, photos, contact information, and any other relevant information. You may also want to include testimonials from previous customers if you have them.
Include Photos
Your magic productions website should have photos of your magic shows, your staff, and past events. These can be added from the media library in WordPress.
Add a Contact Page
Contact information goes on a contact page that is easy to find from any page on your website. This allows visitors to get in touch with you through the contact form.
In WordPress, under appearance, add a new page, and title it “contact.” Add your contact information to the page.
If you chose a template, these pages may have already been imported, and you just need to customize them.
Link To Your Google Business Profile
Include a link to your Google business profile for local rankings.
In Google My Business, add your physical address and website URL if you have one. Add your phone number, images, and anything else you would like to feature. After a booking, encourage your clients to leave a 5-star review on your Google business page.
Congratulations! You have finished making your website. All you need to do now is promote it, and keep it up to date with new content so you stay relevant in the eyes of Google. If people are searching for “magic shows near me” or any other similar magic production-related phrases, they could be directed to your website.
