In this lesson, you will learn how to schedule Instagram posts to keep the engagement on your profile going, even if you aren’t available to post all the time. The more content you are getting out there, the more likely you are to attract new followers, connect with your current followers, and generate more business through Instagram.

What is Tailwind?
Tailwind is a software that allows you to schedule out your Instagram and Pinterest posts. It also provides numerous opportunities to optimize your posts and increase your potential for more views, interactions and conversions.
Step 1: Upload Your Instagram Photo
To upload your instagram photo simply visit the Publisher area of Tailwind for your Instagram account and select the “upload images” button to select a photo from your computer to upload.
You can also use the Tailwind Chrome extension to upload an image from a page or post that you’d like. Simply hover over the photo and select the “schedule” option that appears.
Step 2: Add a Caption
To add a caption to your Instagram post, simply type what you want your post to say in the caption box below your image.
You will want to keep this short & sweet, as Instagram limits what is visible to 2 lines before a “more” link appears for people to read the rest of your caption.
Your goal should be to get the important information out and capture your audience within those first 2 lines.
Tailwind provides you with the option of using your previously saved hashtags, recently used hashtags, as well as their suggested hashtags.
They have color coded the hashtags based on which would be the best for you to use or not.
To add the hashtag to your post, simply click on the hashtag you wish to use. These will change to other related hashtags the more you add to your post.
You can, of course, add your own hashtags by simply typing # and then the hashtag you want to use into the caption box.
One of Tailwind’s features allows you to add these hashtags to your comments rather than in the description.
Your description can only hold so much text, so this frees up some of that description space, while still utilizing the benefits of the hashtag in your post.
To do this, simply enter your hashtags in your description box on Tailwind, then select the checkbox to post your hashtags in the first comment.
Step 4: Publish or Schedule
To schedule your post, simply click the clock in the lower left corner to select a date/time that you want it to be published.
If you want it published right away and you have a lot of other pins in your queue, I recommend using this option.
If you’d like it to go out after your currently queued posts at a time that is selected by Tailwind based on your queue schedule, simply select the green “add to queue” button and it will fill in the next available spot in the queue lineup to be published.
