BREW | Ballen Real Estate Websites
I’ve been using WordPress for years. I began developing my own website and eventually moved to building them for other real estate agents. I tested, measured, and improved my websites for years before I officially opened Ballen Brands, a real estate marketing company that is now owned and operated by my brothers Jeff and Paul Helvin.
The one thing I want you to know the most about the BREW is that it’s YOUR website. You own the domain, and you own the data. Ballen Brands is integrating several software platforms that are specifically registered with you so that you have the freedom to do whatever you want, whenever you want with your real estate agent website.
If you use a brokerage provided website, you lose it if you ever leave. I learned this the hard way when I moved brokerages in 2010. All of that work I had done, gone – Overnight! If you just need a “calling card” then using a brokerage website is fine. I still highly encourage you to go over to godaddy and register your own domain and simply forward the URL to the brokerage website.
Then, if you ever make a change, your URL goes with you.
That being said, if you are building an asset, which means adding quality content to your website with a goal to rank on the search engines, you don’t want a “forwarded” domain name. This is why I chose to own my own WordPress Content Management System.

I researched many IDX solutions before I chose IDX Broker. IDX stands for internet data exchange and it’s the MLS feed that allows properties to appear on your website so buyers can shop for homes. If you are using a broker provided website, you will only have their IDX solution. When you build on WordPress, you can choose your IDX solution. I have a lot of training on my Youtube Channel which includes how to build your own WordPress real estate website. You will need a great IDX solution.

I like the customization abilities, the registration options for buyers, the grid selections, the layouts and so much more.
I added optinmonster to my marketing stack this year.
It’s an integration with WordPress that allows me to make offers on various pages on my website. I can choose to display these offers in a pop-up, slide-in, hello bar, inline content and more. They can swing in, bounce in, and play sound if you like.
When the visitor fills out the form, you can have the lead information flow into your database or collect them from monster leads. You can also choose to auto-respond or redirect the user to a new page.
My real estate leads went through the roof when I started making “just listed homes list” offers, holiday event lists, and newsletter offers.
I work diligently to convert through my subscriber list with activities such as email, text, social connections, retargeting, and even direct mail! Ask Paul and Jeff at Ballen Brands about AutoPilot ISA if you don’t already have a great system for follow up.
Send Out Cards
I use SEND OUT CARDS to cultivate relationships with my sphere of influence, current, and past clients, and real estate leads. I even have a system for sending cards when a house expires or someone fills out a home valuation request on my website. I have the $97 unlimited which includes postage so I can send as many cards as I want. It’s genius.
Listings to Leads
I primarily use listings to leads for the home valuation tool and for great lead capture pages to use on social media and pay per click marketing. I’ve been using them for years. They add to the platform all of the time including chatbots, automated SMS response and so much more.
It’s a tool that funnels in your real estate listings automatically allowing you to use a marketing checklist that creates templates for you to blog about your listing, create virtual tours, single property websites, landing pages, youtube videos and more.
I blog about selling a house and offer the home valuation tool the reader. I then get potential seller leads and begin to cultivate through my funnel.
I use Crowd Content sometimes for ghostwritten blogs. I send them the article idea and they do the research and write the article. Once I receive it, I add it to my real estate agent website and optimize it for the search engines and for a great user experience. You can also talk to Ballen Brands about your content strategy as they will also optimize it for you.
I use SEMrush for my search engine optimization strategies, keyword research, content templates, pay per click research, SEO audits, competitor research and more. It’s a very robust tool for those that really are ready to dive into their content and do the work it will require to rank the webpages on your real estate website.
