How to create and publish one piece of content that gives you back traffic and leads for years:
1.) Create a long-form blog post (say – 2000 words. You could break this down into 500 words a week which is less intimidating). Essentially you have one month to create this. You can also speak into a recorder and send it to a company like Rev.com and have it transcribed to written word. Most can speak way more than they can write. This post should be TRULY valuable content to a buyer or seller or local in your area. Could be about upcoming events, how to get the most money for your home in X, how to avoid buyer traps when obtaining financing, 10 easy “fix” it home tips that will get you $10,000 more in your pocket when selling your home etc.

2.) Create one lead magnet on the page. Your goal is to obtain a lead from this offer. Include an offer for home value, report, ebook, homes for sale near etc., football schedule, events calendar, print option etc. – Test and measure and change your offer on the page to increase leads from that blog post. Your offer matters.
3.) Use a site like Pingdom (http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/) to check your page speed. Goal should be under 3 seconds. You can rank better on the search engines and lower bounce rates with faster page speeds.
5.) Using a tool like Sprout Social (find a link to this product atwww.loristools.com), schedule the blog post to push out to social again once a week. I schedule at LEAST a months worth. Different days each week, different times each week, change the post somehow (like rephrase it into a question, change the default image etc.) to give it variety.
6.) Use a tool like Clicky (https://loriballen.com/the-law-of-atracktion-the-details-pa…/) to measure the results of your blog post. You’ll want to measure Actions (how may actions the user took on that post (clicks etc), bounce rate (did they click anywhere or leave right away), time on the page (if you have videos, images, infographics, and great content, they will stay for several minutes). Consider saving the blog post on a spreadsheet with the title, the link and each of the measures in a column (speed, bounce rate, actions taken, time on site, leads) and modify the content in small places to see how big of a difference you can make on the results. Sometimes changing the image, or the video or even the color of a button can make a difference.
7.) When done well, you won’t have to create mass volume, you just have to create QUALITY.
The more traffic to your post, the better it performs, and the more valuable content it is (especially if it’s not a “ready found topic” on the web), the more likely you are to rank on the search engines. Now you have unpaid, organic traffic coming to your blog generating leads every day for what could be YEARS to come.
